Seven-Year-Old Girl Fighting for Life After Camden Shooting
Police are hunting witnesses after a shocking shooting in Camden left a seven-year-old girl in a critical condition. The terrifying attack occurred on Phoenix Road, NW1, on Saturday afternoon, 14 January.
Chaos at Funeral Service
At 1:29pm, officers rushed to the scene alongside London Ambulance and Air Ambulance crews. Four adults—aged 48, 54, 41, and a 21-year-old woman—were taken to a London hospital. The 48-year-old man suffered potentially life-changing injuries, though none were deemed immediately life-threatening. The young woman’s condition is yet to be confirmed.
Tragically, the seven-year-old girl was also hospitalised with life-threatening injuries, while a 12-year-old girl suffered a minor leg wound and has since been discharged.
The shooting happened near a church during a funeral service. Early reports suggest the shots came from a moving vehicle that sped off immediately after.
Police Hunt Gunmen
No arrests have been made so far as detectives launch a full-scale investigation.
Superintendent Ed Wells said: “Any shooting incident is unacceptable, but for multiple people, including two children, to be injured in broad daylight is appalling. “Our thoughts are especially with the seven-year-old girl and her family during this dreadful time. “We are working round the clock to identify those responsible and bring them to justice. Expect increased police patrols in the area in the coming days. I urge anyone with information to come forward, whether directly or anonymously through Crimestoppers.”
