Stun Gun Scare Sparks Armed Police Raid in Yarmouth

Armed cops swarmed Yarmouth last night after a man was spotted carrying a stun gun. The drama kicked off around 7.30pm at The Bugle pub on Quay Street when a concerned local dialled 999.

Man Arrested Over Stun Gun

A 20-year-old islander was hauled in on suspicion of possessing an illegal weapon – a stun gun designed to discharge noxious liquid, gas, or electrical shocks. He’s now locked up at Newport Police Station as inquiries continue.

Second Arrest Follows

Officers also nabbed a second man, 49-year-old Mark Green, for allegedly obstructing the police. He’s been bailed and must report to Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on May 14.
