Daring Petrol Station Robbery Ends in Arrest

A brazen crook stormed a petrol station in Bapchild brandishing a fake gun – but his robbery plan hit a brick wall. Michael Pollock burst into the BP Service Station on London Road at 9.20pm on Sunday, 12 October 2025, demanding cash at gunpoint.

Staff Brave Fake Firearm Threat

Pollock shouted threats and waved the imitation weapon to scare the terrified workers. One employee fled to call Kent Police, while the other took a stand. As Pollock forced open the till and grabbed the cash, the second worker wrestled the fake gun free and hurled it at the would-be getaway man.

Fast Police Work Snaps Up Thief

The heroic staff gave chase and managed to recover some of the stolen cash during the scuffle. CCTV footage helped police ID Pollock within an hour. Officers swooped on his Blossom Street home and arrested the 35-year-old crook.

Six Years Behind Bars for Armed Robbery

Pollock pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear. On Wednesday, 25 March, Maidstone Crown Court sentenced him to six years and two months in prison.

“Pollock was motivated by his own greed and used a weapon in a public place to inflict fear towards the victims,” said Detective Constable Jack Seager. “Quick work by officers means this dangerous individual has been taken off the streets and will spend a significant time behind bars.”
