Woman caught drink-driving turns on cops with a vicious kick
Speeding from the pub
Maria Giblen-Price, 31, of Mill Lane, Box, was caught red-handed driving at speed after leaving a local pub on January 17. Patrol officers spotted her black Mitsubishi Colt tearing along the A4 in Box and pulled her over.
Breath test sparks fury
Officers immediately smelled alcohol and asked Giblen-Price to take a roadside breath test. She tested positive and was arrested for drink driving. But she didn’t go down quietly — Giblen-Price aggressively kicked an officer in the leg during the arrest.
Custody chaos and court punishment
Back at custody, she refused to provide a second specimen for analysis. Giblen-Price subsequently pleaded guilty to failing to provide a sample and assaulting a police officer.
The court handed her a 12-month driving ban and slapped on fines totaling nearly £1,000, including:
- £615 fine
- £246 victim surcharge
- £85 court costs
- £50 compensation
