Teen Arrested in Chatham After Knife and Dozens of Drug Wraps Found

Knife and 54 Wraps of Heroin and Crack Seized

Chatham town centre cops made a big bust after stopping a suspicious 17-year-old lad linked to drug dealing. Officers seized a knife and over 50 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine during the arrest.

Young Suspect Caught Near Bus Station

The teenager was nabbed on High Street at 3.25pm on Tuesday, 7 February 2023. Uniformed officers had been tipped off about dodgy behaviour from a group of males near the bus station. A search found the knife on the teen, who was then taken into custody.

Charged and Bailed Ahead of Court Date

At the police station, more searches uncovered 54 wraps of Class A drugs. The lad now faces two counts of possession with intent to supply and possession of a knife in public. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 9 February. He was granted conditional bail and is due back in court on Monday, 13 February.
