Teen Thug Snatches £300 E-Scooter in Brazen River Leen Robbery
A 19-year-old has narrowly dodged jail after robbing a student of his £300 e-scooter by the River Leen in Radford. The victim, an 18-year-old student, was cruising along a narrow footpath when two men blocked his way.
Moncler Jacket Targeted Before Threats of Violence
Wearing a flashy £1,000 Moncler jacket, the student was ordered to strip it off. When he refused, one of the men grabbed him and threatened to stab him. The brave student pushed him away and fled—but left his prized e-scooter behind.
Getaway Drama: Mercedes and Scooter Split the Loot
The thug who lunged at him jumped into a black Mercedes A-Class and sped off. Meanwhile, the accomplice hopped on the stolen scooter and made a swift escape. The student’s New York Yankees cap was also snatched during the attack.
Quick Arrest and Suspended Sentence for Robbery
James Francis, from Hackney, London, was arrested and pleaded guilty at nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham Crown Court. He was handed an eight-month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to complete 90 hours of unpaid work. Francis must also pay £300 in compensation.
“This would have undoubtedly been a very scary incident for the victim. Officers did an excellent job to quickly make an arrest and secure a conviction,” said Detective Constable Natasha Ullyatt.
The police remain on the hunt for the second man involved and urge anyone with info to call 101 quoting incident 807 from 25 February 2021.
