Seven Years Behind Bars for Bexhill Sex Attacker

A 27-year-old man has been locked up for a string of vile sexual assaults in Bexhill. Max Wright, formerly of Amherst Road, was handed a seven-year sentence after pleading guilty to five counts of sexual assault across three attacks between November 2022 and June 2023.

Attacks Spread Across Town

The first assault struck near Bexhill Railway Station on November 20, 2022, when a woman was attacked by a man calling himself “Maximiliano.” Despite CCTV checks and door-to-door inquiries, no suspect was immediately caught.

Then, in April 2023, three women were threatened and assaulted near Cooden Railway Station. The attacker fled the scene, but this incident cracked the case, leading to Wright’s ID and arrest. Released on bail, Wright was linked to both attacks.

Final Assault Seals Wright’s Fate

In June 2023, Wright targeted another victim, who managed to catch part of the attack on video. This evidence led to his swift re-arrest. Charged with all five assaults, Wright pleaded guilty at Hove Crown Court in July.

Harsh Sentence and Lifetime Consequences

On December 1, Wright was sentenced to four years in prison plus three years on licence. He faces restraining orders protecting every victim and will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.
