Sussex Police Brace for Trouble Ahead of Planned Rallies
Sussex Police have ramped up their presence across the county ahead of anticipated gatherings. Extra specialist units and resources are on standby to keep the peace.
Events Set for Brighton, Hastings and Crawley
Online chatter points to planned crowds tonight (7 August) in Brighton’s Queens Road and Hastings’ Cambridge Gardens. Another meet-up is expected in Crawley on Friday (9 August). Police have firm plans to protect locals and prevent disorder in all these hotspots.
Police Ready to Crack Down on Criminal Disorder
Assistant Chief Constable Paul Court sent a sharp warning: “We stand ready and prepared to keep you safe and will tackle any criminal disorder that threatens the unity of our communities.”
The public can expect boosted police patrols, with officers actively engaging communities to offer reassurance and act as key contacts. Sussex Police are liaising with local and national partners, monitoring all intel to nip trouble in the bud.
Stay Safe, Stay Informed
ACC Court urged potential troublemakers to think twice: “Anyone planning to take part in criminal disorder in Sussex will regret their actions. Our officers are mobilised and fully prepared. The consequences for those involved will reach far beyond any incidents.”
Residents are advised to follow trusted news sources, including local media and Sussex Police’s official social channels, to get verified updates. “Please speak to local officers for reassurance and report any concerns online, by calling 101, or dial 999 in an emergency,” Court added.
By pre-emptively mobilising forces and working closely with the community, Sussex Police aim to keep the county safe during the upcoming events and maintain public order.
