Swindon Man Caught Red-Handed with £50k of Class A Drugs
Jake Bell, 34, from Tadpole Garden Village, has been slammed with a hefty jail term after cops found £50,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine stashed in a holdall.
On January 14, 2025, Bell was sentenced to 61 months behind bars at Swindon Crown Court. He admitted to possession with intent to supply the dangerous drugs.
Snared After Suspicious Behaviour in Alleyway
Officers pounced on Bell on September 24, 2024, after spotting his dodgy actions down an alley off Dryden Street. A search uncovered £300 in cash on him.
Nearby, police discovered a large holdall in a garden containing 42 bags of heroin and crack cocaine—worth up to £52,000 on the streets.
CCTV revealed Bell tossing the bag and his mobile phone into the garden, trying to ditch the evidence.
Police Praise Team Effort, Urge Community Vigilance
PC Whettam said, “This was a fantastic stop. Bell had clearly gotten too comfortable carrying such a big stash around Swindon. We’ve not only stopped these drugs hitting the streets but taken a dangerous individual off our community.”
The police are calling on locals to stay alert and report any suspicious behaviour. PC Whettam added, “Your information helps us crack down on crime and protect our streets.”
