Rampage After Dispute Over Faulty Bike
The siblings, both from Nelson Road, Northfleet, were sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday 5 May 2022.
The drama unfolded on 4 July 2021 around 5pm, when Kent Police rushed to Haynes Road after reports of a fight. They found a 17-year-old boy with a stab wound, who was quickly airlifted to hospital.
An hour later, officers spotted Ali and Hussain in a blue Vauxhall Astra on Old Road West, Gravesend. The car matched the getaway vehicle description from the stabbing scene.
Police discovered traces of blood on Hussain’s face and a cut on Ali’s hand, linking them to the violent brawl.
Failed Bike Deal Sparks Violence
Detectives revealed that before the stabbing, three men visited the brothers’ home, banging on the door demanding their money back for a faulty bike bought from Ali.
Ali refused to answer. When the visitors left, Ali and Hussain went after them. During the aftermath, Ali stabbed the 17-year-old victim.
Detective Inspector Ross Gurden said: “This was a shocking incident which took place in daylight hours and caused considerable concern to residents who witnessed it.”
“Rather than call Kent Police following the dispute over the bike, Ali and Hussain decided to take the matter into their own hands. Their reckless actions led to a serious injury for their victim and Ali is now facing a lengthy prison sentence.”
