Teen Jailed for Horrific Child Sex Attacks in Kirklees
A teenager has been locked up for committing serious sexual offences against three young girls in Kirklees. Eshea Sullivan, now 18, was just a child himself when he carried out the vile attacks in Huddersfield and Holmfirth between June 2021 and June 2022.
Convicted of 10 Sexual Crimes Against Three Victims
Sullivan was found guilty of 10 sexual offences after a trial at Leeds Crown Court last month. Charges include:
- Two counts of rape
- Two counts of sexual assault by penetration
- One count of sexual assault against one victim
- One count of rape and sexual assault by penetration plus one sexual assault against a second victim
- Sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault against a third victim
Nine Years Behind Bars Plus Lifetime Restrictions
Yesterday (18/2), Sullivan, formerly of York Avenue, Huddersfield, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court. He will serve nine years in prison and remain on licence for five years after release.
He has been slapped with an indefinite restraining order barring any contact with the victims. Sullivan must also register as a sex offender for life and is banned from working or volunteering with children forever.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery
Detective Constable Jay Laughton of the Kirklees Child Safeguarding Unit praised the victims, saying:
“I would like to thank all three victims in this case. Not only have they demonstrated true bravery in coming forward, but they have also ensured that Sullivan has been brought to justice for his predatory behaviour.”
“I hope the lengthy custodial sentence handed down to him by the court will serve as some comfort to them.”
He added that West Yorkshire Police have dedicated child safeguarding teams ready to investigate sexual offences and take reports seriously.
