Ex-cop John dodged the axe by quitting just before disciplinary action could fire him for dodgy behaviour.
Police Bosses Slam John’s Dodgy Defence
South Wales Police grilled John over claims he tested a breathalyser on himself after eating a Christmas mince pie. The panel called his story “wholly implausible.”
They reckon he was trying to rig breath test results during a festive crackdown on drink and drug driving.
Inappropriate Affair Rocks the Force
As if that wasn’t enough, John was caught having an improper relationship with a vulnerable woman he met on duty.
Evidence showed he sent flirtatious texts for nine months from his work phone and even bunked down at her place once.
Watchdog Demands Police Keep It Proper
David Ford, Director of the Independent Office for Police Conduct, said: “We all have a right to expect police officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, and the outcome of the hearing demonstrates that those who fail to do so will be held to account.”
