Paedophile Philip Blanch Gets Suspended Sentence for Child Assaults

Philip Blanch, from Lowestoft, Suffolk, has been sentenced after sexually assaulting a 12-13-year-old boy between 1975 and 1977. Despite the gravity of his crimes, Blanch received a 24-month sentence for each count, served concurrently and suspended for 24 months.

Curfew and Costs Imposed Amid Long History of Abuse

Blanch faces a strict four-month curfew, electronically monitored from 7pm to 7am. He has also been ordered to pay £1,500 in court costs. The court revealed Blanch’s dark past includes 11 other sexual offences against young boys spanning the 1960s to the 1980s in the Runnymede area.

Previous Convictions Reveal Serial Predator

In a 2014 Guildford Crown Court trial, Blanch was found guilty of three counts of indecent assault and three counts of sexual assault. He was jailed for 40 months and placed on the Sexual Offenders Register for life.

Detective Praises Victim’s Bravery

“Philip Blanch is a predatory sexual offender who groomed and assaulted his young victim over several years,” said Detective Constable Fiona Clare, who led the investigation.

“The victim, a golf club caddy, initially trusted Blanch, but he exploited that trust for his own gratification.

“I commend the victim for his bravery in giving evidence and helping bring Blanch to justice.”
