Missing Man’s Family Pleads for Answers One Year After Tragic Discovery

Where’s Huw? Mystery Last Seen in Sherwood

Huw Williams, 25, vanished without trace from his home in Sherwood, Nottingham, on 6 May 2021. Alarmingly, he left without his mobile phone or any belongings. A nationwide search came up empty—until months later.

Remains Found on River Severn Bank

On 2 January 2022, grim news surfaced. Huw’s remains were discovered near the River Severn by Tidenham village in Gloucestershire. Shock rippled through family and friends desperate for answers.

Family Issues Heartfelt Appeal

Now, a year on, Huw’s family is desperately appealing for anyone in Gloucestershire, South Wales, Avon, and Somerset who might have crossed paths with him before his death to step forward.

“Nothing can bring our beloved son back, but we want to understand what happened—when, where and how he died,” said his father Steve. “Even the smallest piece of information could make a huge difference.”

Detectives Seek Crucial Witnesses

Huw was 6ft 2ins tall, slim, with bushy brown hair and a full beard. Two tattoos marked his arms: a fish and a black-and-white skull. Last seen wearing a chequered shirt, dark blue trousers, trainers with silver stripes, and possibly a green waterproof jacket.

Nottinghamshire Police are eager to hear from drivers or anyone who saw him near the Severn or Prince of Wales bridges, or who gave him a lift during his final days.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Bull said: “This case has taken a huge toll on Huw’s family. We are making one last public plea ahead of the inquest in hopes someone can help us piece together what happened. It’s not being treated as suspicious, and anyone with info should come forward without fear.”
