Dog Starved to Death in Horrific Abuse Case in Hull
Katy Louise Oldridge, 34, from Hull HU3, has been slammed for starving her Staffordshire bull terrier, Frank, to death. The poor dog’s skeletal remains were discovered in the filthy kitchen of her home, sparking outrage.
Disturbing Scene Found by RSPCA
Despite leaving a bowl of water, no food was reachable for Frank. The floor was littered with dried faeces, and a baby gate sealed off the kitchen. RSPCA Inspector Jilly Dickinson revealed the grim details:
“I found a dog food tin on the kitchen worktop containing mouldy food remains and an empty box of dog treats filled with faeces. The smell of faeces and decomposing flesh was overwhelming.”
As Frank’s body was bagged, live maggots fell from his head. He was painfully thin, his bones visible through his skin.
Weeks of Suffering Before Death
A vet’s report confirmed Frank likely endured weeks of starvation. Evidence showed severe emaciation and the ingestion of foreign objects as he tried desperately to stave off hunger. The lack of fat and muscle proved his body had exhausted all energy reserves.
Court Hands Down Sentence
Oldridge admitted the abuse, citing personal issues and alcohol dependency. She was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for two years. Additional penalties include:
- 12 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days
- 200 hours of unpaid community work
- £428 in costs and charges
She also received a lifetime ban on owning animals, with the option to appeal after 10 years.
