Woman Slashed at Speakers’ Corner in Broad Daylight
Police were scrambled at 3.34pm on Sunday, 25 July after the Ambulance Service reported an assault at London’s famous Speakers’ Corner, W1.
Officers found a 39-year-old woman with a slash wound to her head. She received first aid at the scene before being rushed to a central London hospital. Thankfully, she’s now been discharged and her injuries are not life-threatening. Police say she continues to receive support.
Investigation Turns to Counter Terrorism Unit
The Met’s SO15 Counter Terrorism Command has taken over the probe. Although the attack isn’t currently classed as terrorism, investigators are keeping an open mind on the motive.
Witnesses captured mobile phone footage of the shocking attack. Police urge anyone who saw what happened to come forward if they haven’t already.
