Copper Heist Busted: Three Men Nabbed with Stolen Piping
Burglary Uncovered at Hersden Industrial Park
Kent Police swooped on an industrial park in Island Road, Hersden, after a business reported thousands of pounds’ worth of damage late on Saturday 1 January 2022. Officers found a bag of stolen copper piping at the scene following a break-in.
High-Tech Hunt Nets Suspects
With the help of a police helicopter and the trusty Police Dog Yoofoo, officers tracked down three men hiding in the nearby marshland. Costel Coscodaru, 25, Marih Gigel Ilihca, 39, and Mihai Florin, 18 – all with no fixed address – were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Thieves Remanded Ahead of Court Date
The trio appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 7 February 2022. They were remanded in custody and are set to return on 7 March 2022 for their next hearing.
