Dutch Trio Face Trial Over South London Murder Horror
Three Dutch nationals stand accused of a savage murder and false imprisonment in Elephant and Castle, south London. The shocking case has rocked the community and will finally head to the Old Bailey this April.
Victim Found with Horrific Injuries, Mother Bound and Gagged
Riches Obi, just 25, was found on November 17, 2020, inside a flat suffering from deep slash and stab wounds to his chest. His mother, Bernadette Ortet, a legal executive, was discovered tied up and gagged in a bedroom – a grim indicator of the brutal nature of the crime.
Accused Deny Charges as Trial Nears
- Suvenca Martis, 33, the only female suspect, faces murder, false imprisonment, and an extra charge of perverting the course of justice.
- Raichell Felomina, 39, denies murder and false imprisonment.
- Jurick Croes, 38, also denies all charges.
All three deny any involvement in the killing and subsequent imprisonment of Bernadette.
Victim’s Bright Future Cut Tragically Short
Riches Obi had been on a promising path, completing an apprenticeship with Porsche and studying sports science at university. His mother, Bernadette, was a respected caseworker specialising in immigration and nationality law at Obadiah Rose Solicitors.
Justice Awaits at the Old Bailey
The trial, set to begin April 2, will investigate the harrowing circumstances around Riches Obi’s death and the shocking imprisonment of his mother. The case has devastated the local community and left the victim’s family struggling with deep grief.
As the courtroom drama unfolds, all eyes will be on the pursuit of justice for a young life lost far too soon, and the agony inflicted upon those left behind.
