Three men convicted of raping 16-year-old schoolgirl after violent ordeal in Enfield
Violent attack ends in guilty verdict
Three men have been found guilty of raping a 16-year-old schoolgirl after holding her against her will. Roberto French, 22, from Enfield, Abdisalam Mohamad, 21, and Hilal Mohamed, 22, both from N18, were convicted following a trial at Wood Green Crown Court on 6 February.

The court heard that the victim travelled from bristol/" title="Bristol" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bristol to Enfield on 13 August 2016. French threatened her with a machete, robbing her in front of the other two defendants. She was then falsely imprisoned in a residential block where all three men forced her to perform oral sex.
After the attack, French stalked the victim as she tried to escape. He was arrested two days later. Mohamad and Mohamed were arrested months apart – in May 2017 and January 2018 respectively – and all stood trial together.
Police praise victim’s bravery
“Roberto French, Abdisalam Mohamad and Hilal Mohamed put this young schoolgirl through a horrific ordeal. She was threatened with a machete, held against her will and raped multiple times,” said Detective Sergeant Carter of the North Area Safeguarding Team.
“The victim and her family have shown tremendous strength in supporting this prosecution and facing the defendants in court. Thanks to their courage, these dangerous men have been convicted. We hope the sentencing on 19 March will reflect the severity of these crimes and the trauma caused.”
