Predator Jailed for Grooming and Attempted Child Rape in Kent

Timothy Boorman, 60, from Killay near Swansea, was slammed with a six-year prison sentence after being caught trying to meet a child in north Kent. The twisted predator had been grooming the victim online before making a 150-mile journey on 13 August 2025. Police arrested him as soon as he arrived, smashing his vile plans.

Guilty Plea Brings Heavy Sentence

Boorman admitted to arranging the rape of a child at Maidstone Crown Court. On 14 November 2025, the judge handed down a six-year jail term and slapped on an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order to keep him under lifelong watch.

Police Warn Boorman Remains a Serious Threat

“Boorman is a danger to children and was prepared to travel a considerable distance to commit appalling offences. He was intercepted by our patrols and brought to justice swiftly,” said PC Aimee Edwards.

“When released, he will face strict court orders and regular unannounced police visits to keep the public safe.”
