Shocking Attacks: Homeless Set on Fire in Croydon

Officers in Croydon are hunting a ruthless arsonist who set fire to people sleeping rough. Detectives believe there could be more victims and are urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Two Attacks in Dead of Night

On Monday, June 10, in the early hours, two incidents hit the George Street and Surrey Street area. Thugs set fire to sleeping bags and belongings, leaving two men with minor burns. Both were treated by the London Ambulance Service.

Arrests Made But Investigation Continues

At around 5am on Wednesday, June 12, police stopped a man and a young woman on George Street. The 22-year-old male was charged and is due in court on Thursday, June 13. The 17-year-old female was released on bail, pending further inquiries.
