Man, 61, Left Fighting for Life After Brutal Plaistow Park Assault
Shock rippled through Plaistow on Thursday as a 61-year-old man was viciously attacked in the local park, leaving him with a serious head injury and in critical condition.
Violent Attack in Broad Daylight
Police were scrambled to Plaistow Park, E13, at 11:35am on 30 May following reports of an assault. The victim was rushed to an east London hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where he remains in a critical state. Authorities have informed his next of kin.
Two Men Arrested – One Charged with GBH
- A 29-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) but has since been released under investigation.
- Later that day, Mohammed Metowlli, 23, from Bemersyde Point, Dongola Road, Plaistow, was taken into custody at his home. He’s now charged with GBH and is set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 1 June.
