West Midlands Police stormed a Castle Vale property on Thursday morning, arresting a 41-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man. Both face suspicion of producing the risky Class B drug known as ‘Lean’.
Drugs, Cash & Samurai Sword Seized in Major Raid
Birmingham’s Priority Crime Team uncovered a stash of hundreds of cough syrup bottles loaded with Phenergan and codeine, key ingredients for ‘Lean’. They also found lab gear including beakers, funnels, and an automatic stirrer.

‘Lean’ is a sweet, seductive drink that’s dangerously popular with young people. But it carries serious health risks like psychosis, memory loss, and brain damage. Some batches even contain paracetamol, which can cause fatal liver failure when abused.
