Two Men Busted in Gillingham Burglary

Two blokes were caught red-handed during a break-in in Gillingham and have now been formally charged with burglary.

Busted at the Scene

On Monday 20 January 2020, at around 6.45pm, thieves smashed a door on Davenport Avenue. They made off with a laptop, speakers, and a bank card. Police quickly swooped and found two suspects nearby, placing them under arrest.

Meet the Charged

  • Jamie Stanford, 32, from Chelmar Road, Chatham, faces burglary charges plus possession of a knife in public.
  • Roy Iliffe, 39, with no fixed address, was also charged with burglary.

Legal Showdown Ahead

Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 22 January. They were remanded in custody and await their next hearing at Maidstone Crown Court. The date is still under wraps.
