Couple Charged After Man Found Starving to Death in Oxfordshire Home
Thames Valley Police have charged two people following the tragic death of James “Anthony” Sootheran, 59, at his South Newington home back in March 2014.
Death Linked to Malnourishment
Mr Sootheran was discovered deceased on 18 March 2014. The post mortem revealed he died from pneumonia, which was caused by severe malnourishment.
Serious Charges Laid Against Couple
On 18 March, police announced the charges against Lynda Rickard, 60, and Wayne Rickard, 64, both from Edinburgh Close, Banbury.
- Lynda Rickard faces numerous charges, including murder, manslaughter, multiple counts of fraud by false representation and abuse of position, making false instruments, conspiring to pervert justice, and possession of articles for fraud.
- Wayne Rickard has been charged with murder, causing or allowing the death of a vulnerable adult, fraud by false representation, and conspiring to pervert justice.
Court Appearance Scheduled
The couple are due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (19 March) to face the charges.
