Major Drug Bust Hits Nottingham Criminal Gang
Police swooped on addresses across Nottingham in a daring crackdown on drug supply and gangs on 6 July 2023. Simultaneous raids targeted homes in Severn Street, Bulwell; Grafton Court, Radford; and Eltham Close, Aspley.
Massive Haul of Class A Drugs and Cash Seized
Officers uncovered large quantities of Class A drugs, cash, multiple phones, and drug dealing kit. At Eltham Close, Anton Sylvester was caught with pockets stuffed full of cash.
The investigation revealed Sylvester relied on taxis to shuttle between the three key addresses, frequently meeting with his accomplices to orchestrate their operation.
Key Evidence Links Properties and Suspects
A key found at Eltham Court unlocked the Severn Street property, tying the locations together. When police forced entry at Grafton Court, they caught 24-year-old Leon Wilson rushing out.
Wilson’s rucksack was packed with Class A drugs and dealing tools. Inside the Grafton Court home, cops found further cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of up to £9,800.
The biggest shock was at Severn Street, where a safe crammed with Class A drugs was discovered. Experts reckon the cocaine stash alone could fetch up to £80,000 on the streets.
Tenant Natalie McCann, 41, was arrested at the premises, linked to the drug operation.
Judgment Day at Nottingham Crown Court
- Anton Sylvester, 36 – Jailed for 10 years after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine, plus possession of criminal property.
- Leon Wilson, 24 – Sentenced to 3 years for possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine.
- Natalie McCann, 41 – Given a 2-year jail term suspended for 2 years after admitting possession with intent to supply.
This crackdown deals a major blow to Nottingham’s drug gangs, disrupting their cocaine and heroin supply chains and sending offenders behind bars.
