Knife Attack and Drug Crimes Land Two Men Behind Bars

Jayvarn Booth, 20, has been locked up for 11-and-a-half years after admitting to stabbing a man in the neck, carrying an offensive weapon, and plotting to supply Class A drugs. His accomplice, Teelan Rock, 21, was jailed for six years for helping Booth escape, conspiracy to supply drugs, and attempting to pervert justice.

Brutal Stabbing in Mansfield

Booth, formerly of Pippin Close, St Ann’s, plunged a knife into a victim outside a home on Kitchener Drive, Mansfield, on 14 June 2020. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and required emergency surgery but thankfully survived.

Rock, once from Coppice Road, Arnold, was at the scene and helped Booth flee by driving the getaway car. He also helped dump the vehicle and both men were involved in running a county lines drug operation between 1 and 15 June 2020.

Police Crack Down on County Lines and Violence

Investigators uncovered a phone number linked to the pair’s drug dealing. Rock was also found guilty of trying to bribe a witness with money and drugs to lie about his involvement.

Detective Sergeant Mark Shaw said: “These sentences send a clear message — Nottinghamshire Police takes knife and drug crime seriously. We will relentlessly pursue those involved in serious violence and weapon crime.”

“Community tips are crucial. We act on every piece of information we get to keep people safe. Our teams work around the clock with partners and neighbourhood officers to disrupt criminals.”

“We’ve invested heavily in protecting victims and identifying those at risk. Anyone exploiting the vulnerable will face the full force of the law.”
