Two Men Remanded Over £10k Cash-In-Transit Robbery and £41k Burglary in Southampton
Two men have been charged and remanded following a daring cash-in-transit robbery and a costly burglary in Southampton, police reveal.
£10,500 Snatched from Cash-In-Transit Driver in Totton
Just after midnight on September 7, a G4S driver was robbed of a cash box containing £10,500 outside the Nationwide Bank on Commercial Road, Totton. The quick-handed thieves made off with the loot in a brazen daylight-style heist.
£41,000 Damage After Burglary at New Century Bingo Club
Later that month, between September 29 and 30, the New Century Bingo Club on Shirley Road, Southampton, was broken into. The burglars caused more than £41,000 worth of damage during the raid, police confirmed.
Two Men Charged and Remanded
- Robert Yeo, 34, of Winchfield Close, Southampton, faces charges of non-dwelling burglary and acquiring criminal property under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
- Ricky Severn, 30, of Alder Road, Southampton, has been charged with acquiring criminal property under the same Act.
Both appeared before Southampton Magistrates this week and were remanded into custody as investigations continue. Police say these arrests follow a thorough probe into the linked crimes in Hampshire.
