Speeding Drivers Kill Pedestrian in Deadly Road Horror
Jordan Lill and Christopher Milsom were racing down Wheatley Hall Road when tragedy struck. On the night of 30 July 2020, Lill’s Jaguar XF smashed into 34-year-old Carl Queen as he crossed the street after being dropped off by a taxi. The collision at around 11:15pm killed Carl instantly.
Ruthless Race Ends in Death
The pair had been speeding and overtaking each other recklessly along the route. Lill stopped at the crash scene, but Milsom, who initially returned in his Mercedes, fled before being tracked down by police.
Justice Served at Sheffield Crown Court
On Tuesday 28 November, both men were jailed for seven and a half years after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. They also received five-year driving bans. Lill, 26, from Armthorpe, and Milsom, 34, from Doncaster, face years behind bars for their deadly actions.
Police Condemn Dangerous Driving
“Lill and Milsom’s behaviour that night was utterly senseless and callous, with both driving far above the 40mph speed limit,” said PC Richard Thorley from the Serious Collisions Unit. “Their actions resulted in the death of a pedestrian simply heading home after an evening out. My thoughts remain with Carl’s family as they come to terms with their tragic loss.”
