Pair Busted for “Dine and Dash” and Assault in Kent Village

Restaurant and Pub Rip-Offs

Kent Police were called after a man and woman skipped out on bills at two Wrotham Road venues on Saturday 24 September 2022. The couple reportedly left a restaurant without paying for their meal, then later bolted from a nearby pub without settling a £138 tab.

Violent Twist Involved

Things took a darker turn when a teenage girl and a woman were assaulted at the same pub. Police say the man also swiped around £80 worth of food from a local supermarket in the village that day.

Suspects Nabbed and Charged

On Wednesday 5 October, authorities arrested James Hutton, 32, and Prianna Cheema, 27, both from Berengrave Lane, Gillingham. They face charges including making off without payment, theft, and assault.

  • Hutton charged with theft and two dine-and-dash counts totaling over £190
  • Cheema charged with two assaults plus dinner and pub tab evasion

Both have been bailed and must appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 4 November 2022.
