Harbour Havoc: Two Saved from Sinking Boat
Emergency services pulled off a daring rescue tonight after a boat started taking on water in the harbour. The vessel, Old Buoy 2, was rapidly sinking when Coastguards rushed to the scene.
Coastguard Swims to the Rescue
One man was saved after a Coastguard crew member swam out to the stricken boat to provide help. Meanwhile, another passenger was frantically bailing water from the sinking tender before being hauled to safety by fellow Coastguards.
Quick Action Avoids Disaster
Thanks to the Coastguard’s swift response, both people were brought safely ashore with no injuries reported. The cause of the sudden water intake on Old Buoy 2 is currently under investigation.
Local officials hailed the Coastguard for their fast and decisive action, which stopped what could have been a tragic incident from spiralling out of control.
