Two nabbed in moped theft spree face court showdown

A man and woman were dragged before Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, Saturday 8 June, accused of masterminding a motor vehicle theft ring.
Phillip Roberts, 31, from Munster Road, SW6, and 19-year-old Naazish Ilyas both denied involvement and were remanded in custody.
Moped gang terrorised London
The pair stand accused of conspiracy to steal from vehicles using mopeds in a spree spanning 19 offences.
The crimes allegedly took place between 14 January and 5 June this year, hitting motorists across the capital.
Next hearing set
Roberts and Ilyas are due back in court at Isleworth Crown Court on 5 July to face the charges head-on.
