Axe-Wielding Brothers Held at Knife-Point in High Street Robbery
Violent Duo Target Elderly Shop Owner
On 26 October 2019, brothers Christopher and Stephen Bouskill launched a terrifying raid on an electrical shop in High Street, Wath. Armed with an axe and a knife, the pair threatened the 78-year-old owner, pushing him to the floor and forcing him to hand over his wallet and £700 from the till.
Daring Getaway Ends in Disaster
PC Jessica Pearce, who led the investigation, revealed: “The victim feared for his life during the attack. Despite this, his bravery in helping police bring the criminals to justice is truly commendable.”
Christopher, 40, made a bungled escape by driving through floodwater, stranding himself and getting caught by a police dog on the scene.
Burglary Links Uncover More Crimes
After Christopher’s arrest, police tied him to a burglary on Church Street, Swinton, just three days earlier. Loot included a laptop, cash, and other valuables.
Stephen, 45, was soon caught and connected to another burglary from 17 October in Bradlea Rise, Rawmarsh, where almost £10,000 worth of sentimental jewellery was swiped.
Justice Served for Rotherham Community
PC Pearce slammed the Bouskill brothers as “nasty and prolific offenders” and a “blight on the Rotherham community.” Both men pleaded guilty and were sentenced to 10 years in prison at Sheffield Crown Court.
