Two Thugs Jailed for Crime Spree Targeting Vulnerable Victims
Declan Flynn, from Moorfield Avenue, Denton, and Ryan McCormack, of no fixed abode, were locked up last Friday (28 October 2022) at Manchester Crown Court. Flynn got four-and-a-half years, while McCormack was sentenced to four years behind bars.
Robbery, Assaults, Drugs and More
Both men faced a barrage of charges, including:
- Two counts of robbery, including stealing a car
- Burglary of a home with motor vehicle theft
- Five assaults on emergency workers
- Section 47 assault on a police officer
- Possession of a bladed article
- Possession with intent to supply class A drugs
- Assault to resist arrest
Crime Spree Lasted Over a Month
The crime spree kicked off on 10 December 2021 and only ended when the duo were arrested on 25 January 2022. Detective Sergeant Peter Goddard of Tameside led the investigation and didn’t mince words about the pair:
“Declan Flynn and Ryan McCormack are cowardly and dangerous individuals, whose criminality preyed upon vulnerable people in the street, regardless of their surroundings or the time of day.
“The officers within the Neighbourhood Crime Team at Tameside worked tirelessly to secure the charge, remand and prosecution of these two defendants. I hope today’s sentencing will act as a deterrent to anyone considering crime and the consequences they are likely to face.”
