Man charged with attempted murder after woman stabbed in Bexley
Woman in critical condition after brutal attack
A violent stabbing on Penhill Road sent shockwaves through Bexley on Tuesday, January 16. Police rushed to the scene shortly after 4pm after reports of a woman suffering serious stab wounds.
The victim, believed to be in her 30s, remains in critical condition as of Monday, January 22, highlighting the severity of her injuries.
Suspect arrested and charged
Tony Curant, 33, who lives on the same road, was swiftly arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is due to appear at bromley/" title="Bromley" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bromley Magistrates’ Court this coming Monday.
Police respond within minutes
Inspector Graham Rickard, leading the south-east London policing team, said, “We arrived at the scene within three minutes of the initial report and provided first aid until paramedics took over.”
Despite immediate medical assistance, the victim suffered severe injuries and was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Victim and attacker known to each other
Inspector Rickard also confirmed the victim and alleged attacker are believed to be acquainted. No prior arrests had been reported until now, but the Met Police have confirmed the recent charges following the shocking incident.
