London Thieves Nabbed After Daring Longfield Shop Break-In

Two suspected thieves from London have been charged following a late-night raid on a Longfield shop where cigarettes were stolen.

Dash and Smash: Police Chase Ends in Crash

Kent Police were called around 11.45pm on Sunday, 15 March 2020, after reports that a car pulled up outside a Station Road shop. Two men then forced their way inside and made off with a bag of cigarettes.

Officers quickly tracked down a suspicious vehicle nearby, but it refused to stop. The chase ended when the getaway car rammed a police vehicle.

Suspects Arrested and Charged

  • Gary O’Brian, 26, from London Road, Tooting,
  • Alex Parle, 27, from Adams Garden Estate, Rotherhithe

Both were arrested the same night. On 17 March, O’Brian faced charges of burglary and aggravated vehicle taking. Parle was charged with burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, and possession of a knife.

The pair were remanded in custody and set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 17 March.
