Car Chase Chaos in Swanley Ends in Double Arrests
Police were alerted around 8pm on Monday, January 23, 2023, after a suspected stolen car was linked to a shoplifting at a Swanley petrol station.
The Swanley Local Policing Team quickly tracked the vehicle, sparking a high-speed chase that ended on Guilden Hall Road with two arrests.
Joe Rossiter Faces Multiple Charges
Joe Rossiter, 39, from Hart Dyke Crescent, Swanley, has pleaded guilty to a string of offences including dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance or a licence, refusing a blood test, and two counts of theft. He appeared before Medway magistrates and was granted bail ahead of sentencing at Maidstone Crown Court.
A woman arrested alongside Rossiter was released without charge.
Another Stolen Car Pursued with Police Helicopter
Not long after, officers received reports of another suspicious vehicle in the area using false number plates.
With help from the NPAS police helicopter, patrols tracked the car to a Dartford address and launched another pursuit.
Second Pair Charged Over Dangerous Driving and Theft
- Billy Jeeves, 33, of Mayfly Close, Orpington, was charged with dangerous driving, fuel theft, failing to stop, and driving without insurance or a licence. He was granted bail and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, February 22.
- Rebecca Scott, 32, from Austin Road, Orpington, faced charges for allowing herself to be transported in a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent. She was granted police bail and is set to appear before Sevenoaks magistrates on Thursday, February 23.
