Man Shot in Broad Daylight at Hornsey Rise Gardens

Police rushed to Hornsey Rise Gardens, N19, at 4:24pm on Tuesday, 8 June after reports of gunshots. Officers, alongside London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, found a man suffering a gunshot wound. He was rushed to hospital.

Witnesses claim the victim’s face was “blown apart” in the brutal daylight shooting. The scene has left the local community shaken.

Suspect Arrested, Investigation Underway

A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. He is now in custody as police carry out their enquiries. A crime scene remains in place.

Police Issue Section 60 in Islington

A Section 60 order has been authorised, giving officers stop-and-search powers over a large part of the borough.
