Burglar Admits To String of Break-Ins Across Wimbledon Village

A 42-year-old man from Broadheath has confessed to a spree of burglaries targeting homes in Wimbledon Village, southwest London. Asdrit Kapaj, of Woodfield Road, appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Wednesday, 24 April, where he pleaded guilty to 24 separate offences.

Kapaj’s Crime Spree Spanned Over a Decade

The burglaries took place over more than ten years, between 2008 and 2019, hitting numerous residential addresses. Here’s a quick rundown of some key locations and dates:

  • 21 July 2008 – Peregrine Way, SW19
  • 28-30 March 2013 – Bathgate Road, SW19
  • 7 July 2015 – Drax Avenue, SW19
  • December 2015 – Multiple breaks in Somerset Road, Leopold Avenue, St Mary’s Road, and Drax Avenue, SW19
  • February-March 2017 – Seymour Road (West Molesey), Atherton Drive, Lincoln Avenue, and Home Park Road, SW19
  • April-May 2017 – Home Park Road, Arthur Road, Church Road, SW19
  • Late 2018 – Multiple burglaries across Mackay Road, Arthur Road, Atherton Drive, Home Park Road, Copse Hill, Camp View, Belvedere Grove
  • 22 February 2019 – Charged with going equipped for burglary

Sentencing Date Set

Kapaj was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on 21 June. The court will decide his fate for this extensive burglary rampage across some of southwest London’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.
