Fatal Crash Shuts M25 Clockwise Between Junctions 29 and 30
Road chaos continues on the M25 clockwise today as police keep the stretch between Junctions 29 and 30 closed following a tragic collision. Just before 4 AM, emergency teams rushed to the scene after a lorry struck pedestrians standing on the motorway’s hard shoulder.
One Man Dies, Another Hospitalised
The Metropolitan Police confirmed two men were hit. Paramedics treated both on site, but one man sadly died despite life-saving efforts. The other was taken to hospital for further treatment. Two others were reportedly treated and discharged at the scene by London Ambulance Service" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">London Ambulance Service crews.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
All four lanes remain shut as police investigate the fatal smash. Officers urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area around 3:56 AM to call 101, quoting CAD 1299/08SEP.
“Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service paramedics and treated two men. Despite their best efforts, one of the men died at the scene. Road closures are in place as police carry out enquiries. No arrests have been made,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.

The investigation is ongoing and traffic disruption is expected to last throughout the day. Motorists are urged to steer clear of the M25 between Junctions 29 and 30 to avoid further gridlock.
