Predator Carlos Fletcher Jailed for 12 Years After Two Women Speak Out

Carlos Fletcher, 23, has been slammed with a 12-year prison sentence after two women courageously came forward with harrowing accounts of his crimes. The Wolverhampton man not only raped a woman in her 20s but also tried to rape a 14-year-old girl.

Victims’ Brave Testimonies Help Nail Fletcher

The first victim reached out in autumn 2020, revealing that Fletcher forced her into regular sexual acts when she was just 14 back in 2017. He also pressured her for naked photos. His second victim, around 20 at the time, exposed how Fletcher raped her and blackmailed her into sending explicit images, threatening to share them unless she paid up.

Digital Forensics Nail Fletcher’s Guilt

Thanks to digital forensic experts retrieving damning messages and images from Fletcher’s phone, the evidence was rock solid. After a five-day trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Fletcher was found guilty on all charges, including rape, attempted child rape, sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual acts, and blackmail.

He denied all charges but was convicted on April 9 and sentenced on June 1. Fletcher is now behind bars and will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Police Praise Victims’ Courage

“The bravery of these two women in coming forward was critical to securing justice,” said DC David Powles from the Public Protection Unit. “We supported them through the investigation and court hearings. Fletcher’s imprisonment means he can’t prey on anyone else.”

“We hope this conviction helps these women heal from their ordeals.”
