Essex Police have swooped on a 43-year-old woman following a violent stabbing in Colchester that left a man in his 30s fighting for his life.

The emergency call came in just before 3.30am on Sunday, sending officers racing to Maidenburgh Street. The victim was found with multiple stab wounds and rushed to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Suspect Bailed Ahead of March Court Date
The woman was detained on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. She has since been released on bail but will face court on March 8 as police continue their probe into the attack.
