Mohamed Iidow, 35, is now on trial at the Old Bailey. He faces charges of rape and manslaughter. During Tuesday’s opening, prosecutor Alison Morgan KC told jurors:

“In short, it is alleged that he raped Natalie Shotter and that the act of rape caused Natalie Shotter’s death.”
