Teen Zombie Knife Attacker Guilty of Attempted Murder at Notting Hill Carnival
A 19-year-old teen launched a brutal zombie knife attack at Notting Hill Carnival and has now been found guilty of attempted murder.
Zombie Knife Rampage in Notting Hill
Rumarni Tuitt, from Walthamstow, was convicted at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 8 May, for stabbing a stranger multiple times during the packed event on 26 August 2024. Armed with a deadly 10-inch zombie knife, Tuitt attacked a man after a heated row in Canal Way, just off Ladbroke Grove.
Police on patrol spotted Tuitt pulling the blade from his waistband, then lunging violently at a group of revellers.
Victim Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries
The 19-year-old victim, a complete stranger with no known connection to Tuitt, was stabbed at least five times, including serious wounds to his abdomen. Emergency surgery was needed to save his life.
Thanks to the swift police response, Tuitt was arrested on the spot. Officers provided crucial first aid until paramedics arrived. The blood-stained zombie knife was recovered from the scene.
Investigation and Aftermath
Acting Detective Inspector Sophie McLoughlin said: “This was a savage and senseless attack. The victim was very lucky to survive his injuries. Thanks to the quick-thinking officers and emergency medics, this is not a murder case.”
Tuitt was charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article on 29 August 2024. He was remanded into custody and faces sentencing on Friday, 27 June.
The terrifying attack shocked hundreds of thousands of carnival-goers who had come to celebrate music and community spirit. Police have yet to confirm Tuitt’s motive for the savage assault.
