Youths Armed with Fake Gun Spark Massive Police Hunt in Chippenham
Just before 11am yesterday, reports flooded in of three youths seen in Monkton Hill, Chippenham. One was allegedly brandishing what looked like a firearm.
Armed Police Launch Full-Blown Operation
Armed Response Officers swooped on the scene instantly. They scoured the area thoroughly, even halting trains going in and out of Chippenham Railway Station. A train at Bath Spa was also searched as part of the operation.
Suspects Nabbed with Imitation Firearm
The trio matching the report’s description were found chilling in an underground car park in Chippenham town centre. Officers seized an imitation firearm from the group.
Two More Teens Released Without Charge
Separately, detectives investigating an unrelated incident released two other teenagers without pressing charges. The investigation connected to a serious case at Birmingham New Street station continues.
