A pro-Palestinian activist revealed the climber is a 69-year-old man risking his life without any safety equipment in a “death-defying, daredevil act of solidarity for Palestine.” A Met spokesperson said:
“Our priority is the man’s safety and officers are attempting to speak to him. As yet, he has not engaged with any of the officers on the ground.”
The London Fire Brigade and other emergency services have been notified. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as police manage the ongoing incident.
