A careless fly-tipper has sparked outrage after dumping an unwanted caravan in the gateway of a pumping station on Gore Green Road, Higham. The rogue caravan appeared under the cover of darkness, leaving locals horrified.

By Monday, vandals had broken into the abandoned caravan, dragging out a bed base and other furniture. Furious residents alerted Kent Police, who quickly informed Gravesham Council about the mess.

Council Vows Tough Action on Waste Crime

Gravesham Council has slammed the fly-tipping as “incredibly irresponsible” and promised a hard crackdown. A parish councillor said:

“Vehicle abandonment on this scale is incredibly irresponsible. We try our best to keep on top of it.”

The council is arranging removal of the caravan under its powers to clear abandoned vehicles. The councillor added:

“We as a community are committed to cracking down on waste crime and have a good track record of finding those responsible. It is a significant blight on our area, but our message is clear – there is no hiding place.”
