Man Arrested After Knife Attack on Train Station Platform
A man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault following a violent stabbing incident at a northbound train station platform.
Two Men Stabbed in Brave Attempt to Stop Attack
Police were called to the station around 10.30pm after reports of a man being stabbed. A second man was also hurt after trying to intervene and stop the attack, which was reportedly homophobic in nature.
Another member of the public later came forward saying they were groped by the suspect as he fled the scene.
Victims Taken to Hospital, Injuries Not Life-Threatening
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police, attended the scene. The two male victims, both in their 40s, were taken to hospital. Thankfully, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Paul Attwell, senior investigating officer, stressed the ongoing search for information:
“This has understandably been a worrying time for the travelling public and our officers have been working around the clock to investigate. Extensive lines of enquiry have been followed and a man has now been arrested in connection with this incident. We are not looking for anyone else at this time. Our enhanced high-visibility patrols will continue in the area to reassure the travelling public this Bank Holiday weekend.”
