Lamborghini Crash Fugitive Nabbed in East London Sting
Speeding Sting Spurs Arrest
A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, 13 October, in Isle of Dogs, East London. The arrest came after a targeted operation by the Met’s Specialist Crime South proactive teams, with backup from South East Command Unit officers.
Charges Include Assault, Kidnap and Blackmail
The man faces serious allegations: assault on police, kidnap, and blackmail. A 30-year-old woman found at the same address was also arrested, suspected of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody at a south London police station.
Lamborghini Crash Puts Cops in Danger
The suspect was wanted after crashing his Lamborghini Urus into a police vehicle in Broadway, Bexleyheath, on Monday, 5 October. He was fleeing officers when the collision happened, causing whiplash injuries to four officers.
Met Officers Praise Teamwork
“This is a good example of the Met’s specialist units working closely with police teams in boroughs, to locate and take people suspected of serious crime and violence off the streets,” said Detective Chief Inspector John Swinfield. “The car attack on officers was extremely serious and reckless, and it was fortunate that no-one was seriously injured.”
