Teen Held Over Elephant & Castle Stabbing Death
Ian Gualavisi was fatally stabbed on December 14, 2021, while working at Rincon Costen Restaurant in Elephant and Castle. The killer wore a bright fluorescent green jacket and motorcycle helmet — a look witnesses say is “unforgettable.” Ian died in his father’s arms after the attack.
Six Arrested in Murder Probe
Since the stabbing, police have arrested six people in total. The first two, both 24-year-old men, were detained shortly after the attack but later released under investigation. In May 2022, four more males aged 16 to 21 were arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
Man Nabbed at Edmonton Green Station
On June 10, British Transport Police officers at Edmonton Green railway station arrested a 20-year-old man wanted by the Met Police over the murder. The man was stopped at 5:31pm while officers responded to reports of a fare evader.
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed: “On Friday, 10 June, a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murdering Ian Gualavisi in Elephant and Castle.” He is currently released on bail as the investigation continues.
Ongoing Investigation into Ian’s Tragic Death
Ian was stabbed at around 7:45pm at the South East London restaurant where he worked. British Transport Police handled the arrest at Edmonton Green before handing the suspect to Lewisham detectives.
Police remain tight-lipped but continue to piece together this brutal murder case, urging anyone with information to come forward.
